Presidents Corner

Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football League
Questions were raised on the issue on the winner of the National Football League winner. At the council meeting I read the whole letter that was written to FIFA seeking assistance in the case of a Nigerian player forging his International Transfer Certificate (ITC). In the letter written to Fiji FA I have also requested if we be given a reply by this Friday.
General
I have been asked a lot of questions on office bearers elected in the various districts. Irrespective of what the statute says the Fiji FA statutes take precedence. Constitution scheduled was given to all affiliates and every district officials will have a four year term
National League
It has been agreed during the council meeting that no Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football league games will be postponed. A proposal was put forward by the Technical Department to shift the National Football League second round to October after the Inter district championship to accommodate the commitments of the national side. The districts have unanimously agreed that they do not want to have the league after the IDC. The districts agreed with no objection and will require with Fiji FA requirements and that no games will be postponed because the players are in the national team.
Premier Division
I must compliment the president of Lami Football Mr. Mohammed Sareem for the proposals that he had put forward where he states that we should have a separate tournament for the premier division. I must compliment him for making such a wonderful constructive and progressive proposal. This is an example to all the district officials to make constructive proposals. The decision has been made whereby we will have another tournament which includes the top eight Premier division teams. Lami president has agreed they will look for a sponsor and Fiji FA will provide the referees and necessary assitance. The gate takings will be spilt eight ways with the participating teams.
