Suva suspends five

Fiji Football Association has received letters from the Suva FA to notify the suspension of their five players. This was confirmed by Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Bob Kumar.
“The football house has received letters from Suva FA on the indefinite suspension of their five players in the Fiji FACT last weekend. The letter states that players will appear before the disciplinary committee and then their fate will be decided.” Kumar said.
Five have been alleged to have broken the camp and went to consume alcohol after the semifinal loss against Nadi on Saturday.
Defender Samuela Vula has been accused of breaking camp on the night of 22nd June and he has used foul and abusive language to the management and the executives of Suva FA and he has also been liable to the damage of the property where the team camped for the tournament.
Semi Rokoqica has been accused of consuming alcohol on Sunday during the Suva and Rewa match while in Suva uniform and deserted the team.
Midfielder Ravinesh Karan Singh, Captain Leone Damudamu and recent inclusion Netava Ratubuli have been handed indefinite suspension for breaking camp and consuming alcohol while the five have been given the letter to appear before the Suva disciplinary committee next month.
Suva coach Gurjit Singh said the departure of their key players have contributed to the downfall of the Suva team in the Fiji FACT this year.
“We did not have the same core of players from last year as the only four players from last year were Leone Damudamu, Samuela Drudru, defender Samuela Vula and Waisake Navunigasau from the best eleven which we had last year,” Singh said.
Despite the shortfall Suva has buried the past and looks forward for the remainder of the season.
“We will keep working hard despite not winning the Fiji FACT. But for now we will concentrate on our remaining league games and one thing which need to be addressed is discipline,” Singh said.
