After finishing top in their zonal Vodafone Youth League competition last year, Ba, Labasa and Rewa will compete for the Vodafone Youth League 2019 title this weekend at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
Defending champions Rewa will face northern winners Labasa in the opener on Friday January 31 at 4pm while western giants Ba will take on Labasa on Saturday February 1 at 3pm. The final match will be between Rewa and Ba on Sunday at 3pm.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said that the playoff for the Vodafone U19 Youth League 2019 which was deferred in December due to measles outbreak has been rescheduled.
“There will be no addition of players to the existing list of qualifying teams during the playoff stage of the competition (Teams will be only eligible to use player as at the final match of their zonal competition),”
“Furthermore, all the single yellow cards will be carried forward to the final playoff and those who are already got accumulated yellow cards in the final zonal matches will have to serve in the playoff matches,” said Pal
Pal said the competition would be fully funded by Fiji FA.
“We will provide transportation, accommodation and meal allowance for the teams,”
The winner receives $4000 prize-money and trophy while the runner-up gets $1500
