Young Justin aspires Roy Krishna

The Mom N Pop League continued to record a massive turnout at the ten different centers across nation last Saturday.

Fiji FA media spoke to one of the participants at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba last week.

The 9-year-old, Justin Jiten Kumar, has been a regular participant coming all the way from Elevuka in Ba.

“I love soccer because it’s an exciting game and it’s very fun to play,” said the aspiring footballer when asked about the motivating factor for him to come every week.

“When I complete my homework, I mostly go out to play soccer with my friends.

“I love to train.”

The Tagore Memorial School year 5 student said his favourite footballer is the Fijian wonder-boy Roy Krishna.

“Roy Krishna is my favourite player because he plays well and smart.

“I want to be like him when I grow up.”

The Mom N Pop league is basically for kids under the age of 10 to come along with their parents and enjoy football programme organized by Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA), an initiative of the Technical Department with the help of Just Play programme volunteers.

It offers everyone the chance to play football, without discrimination and without the need for major infrastructure.

The programme is being player at the following venues:

1. Ba – Fiji FA Academy

2. Lautoka – Churchill Park Ground 2

3. Nadi – Nadi Sangam Primary School

4. Sigatoka – Naidovi Primary School

5. Navua – Vashist Muni Primary School

6. Suva – Fiji FA Headquarters.

7. Nasinu – Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) Grounds

8. Nausori – Saraswati Primary School, Manoca

9. Labasa – Labasa Sangam Primary School

10. Seaqaqa – Seaqaqa Central Primary School
