Xavier College created history at this year’s Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools football championship which concluded at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Friday.
Xavier College won U15, U17, Girls, and Under 19 grades of the championship.
Association president Aminesh Ram said it is a feat that would be hard to replicate by any other school.
“Winning doesn’t come easy. It requires so much sacrifice and planning. Hats off to the entire Xavier College team for their victory especially the school principal and the team coaches and managers.
“The entire Xavier team has written a new leaf in the FSSFA chapter and for this, they deserve all the accolades,” said Ram
Ram said the tournament was very successful.
“After a lapse of 2 years players gave their best. They were very disciplined and we witnessed raw talents on display. The standard of football displayed was awesome,”
He confirmed that they have planned to increase the numbers in under 19 grade next year.
“We are planning for 20 teams in under 19 grade next year but it all depends on the funding”
“We will also try to get the jerseys for the qualifying teams.
Ram said they have plans to host the tournament next year.
