CONGRATULATIONS to Suva Futsal side for winning the 2019 Vodafone futsal Inter District Championship last weekend at FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

Suva proved to be a better team in futsal with its stunning performance. Also congratulations to Lami for making its debut in the tournament and reaching the final. I would to thank each and every one who somehow assisted in making the Vodafone futsal IDC a major success.

The interest from players and fans in futsal is growing as we could see a huge turnout in the three day tournament.

Fiji FA is fully committed in development of futsal in the country since its revival in 2018. All the teams brought in excitement and joy to many fans who came to watch the tournament with their skills and drills of futsal which was amazing to watch and Iam sure they all must have enjoyed the real indoor futsal at the Gym.

I thank Fiji Sports Council for allowing us to host the tournament this year at the FMF Gymnasium. I urge districts to assist Fiji FA in the development the futsal with weekly local futsal league. We will be talking to authorities in every district to construct a futsal court so it could help in the development of the game in Fiji.
