The Vodafone Fiji FACT 2020 player of the tournament Shahil Dave has dedicated his goals and award to his three-month-old daughter Inaya.
Dave was instrumental for Suva both in the semifinals and final as his 49th minute cross made the overall difference helping his side to win the title and finish the season of a high.
The 28-year-old Police Officer said it was all possible through a dedicated teamwork.
“I would like to thank my teammates and officials because it was a team effort that it became possible for me to win this award.
“I was shocked but really happy when my name was called and I knew the team effort and of course the support from my parents and my wife have always been there,” he said.
Dave, after his goal celebrated with open folded arms (as pictured) and when questioned by Fiji FA Media, he said, “It was for my daughter Inaya. My wife gave birth three months ago and all my goals and the award is dedicated to her.”
