Wilkshire to Be Chief Guest at Fiji FA Awards Night 2024

Former Socceroo Luke Wilkshire will be the chief guest at the Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024, set to be held on December 1 at the Crowne Plaza in Nadi.

Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf expressed his excitement about Wilkshire’s participation, describing it as a significant honor.

“It’s an honor and privilege to have a FIFA Legend to grace the event,” said Yusuf. “Known for his impressive international career and contributions to Australian football, his insights and experiences will inspire Fiji’s football community.”

During his visit, Wilkshire will be accompanied by his wife and engage in several activities.

“Wilkshire is expected to attend the Flick Hygiene Pacific Cup matches at Churchill Park in Lautoka and visit Fiji Ba Academy, further emphasizing his commitment to connecting with the local football community.

“The former Socceroo midfielder’s presence at the Awards Night and his engagements with Fiji Football are anticipated to leave a lasting impact on football enthusiasts and aspiring players, “Yusuf added.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night is making a grand return after a three-year hiatus, promising to be a spectacular evening celebrating Fiji football’s best and brightest.

This year’s event will feature 16 prestigious awards recognizing outstanding players, teams, officials, and contributors to the sport.

Middlesbrough (2000–2003): A product of their youth academy, he made his professional debut.

Bristol City (2003–2006): Excelled as a creative midfielder.

FC Twente (2006–2008): Shone in the Dutch Eredivisie with consistent performances.

Dinamo Moscow (2008–2014): Played over 100 matches in the Russian Premier League, known for his versatility.

Feyenoord (2014–2015): Brief but impactful stint in the Eredivisie.
