Western futsal league to kick off on Saturday

The Vodafone Western Futsal League will kick off this Saturday at Churchill Park Futsal Court in Lautoka

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said the tournament was supposed to be played last year but could not start due to teams not giving registrations on time or lack of interest.

“Despite so many attempts Ba Futsal, Tavua Futsal and Rakiraki Futsal are yet to give the registration before we could begin with the competition,”

“The competition will now start from 25/01/20 and I urgently request Ba Futsal, Rakiraki Futsal and Tavua Futsal to submit the registration by Wednesday 22/01/20, said Pal

Pal said Fiji FA was also in a process of scheduling Futsal IDC sometime in late March 2020.

“The top four teams from Vodafone Central Futsal League, three teams from west and one team from north will qualify to participate in the Vodafone Futsal IDC 2020,”

The winner of the IDC will qualify to participate in the OFC Futsal Champions League 2020,” said Pal

Pal said the transfer window was open and players could seek transfer if they wanted.

“The futsal transfer window will close on the 31/01/20 and those teams wishing to seek transfers of players for rest of the competition or futsal IDC can do so before the close of the transfer window,”said Pal
