Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup donates football equipment

The participating teams from Fiji in the Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup has received a significant intake of equipment during the tournament last week.

The equipment, which included playing strips and soccer balls, were donated by Australian players competing in the event which concluded on Saturday.

The Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup have been organising donations to Fiji Football ever since the competition’s inception in 2010.

Tournament director Bruce Tilt said the donation process was an important part of giving back to the Fijian football family who have supported event.

“This years donations have included full playing strips, including shirts, shorts and socks as well as soccer balls,” he said.

“We hope the donation of this gear helps increase the growing passion for the sport in Fiji.

“I know the Fijian players will wear these strips with pride which is really heartening for me to see.

“The Australian players and supporters have taken photographs to advise the clubs who have donated the gear and thanked them for their generosity.”

Some of the Australian clubs and schools who contributed include; Clyde United Soccer Club, Sydney FC, Camden Tigers, Wagga United, Shoalhaven United, Yowie Bay Public School, Fernhill Foxes, Wagga City Wanderers, Nepean FC and Menai Hawks.
