The RC Manubhai/APCO Coatings International Veterans Tournament was a success say Fiji FA vice president Jitendra Reddy.
Reddy said despite the unfavorable weather condition the tournament ended successfully.
“The weather was beyond our control but thanks to the management and staff of Uprising Beach Resort for accepting our last minute request to host the tournament here,”
“The teams displayed very good football on the artificial pitch and some thrilling encounters were seen during the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.
He congratulated NZ Rewa Masters for winning the tournament as well Nasinu Masters for their gallant fight in the final.
NZ Rewa Masters defeated Rewa Masters 1-0 in the first semi-final while Nasinu Masters qualified for the final beating Lautoka Masters 2-1.
In the final NZ Masters defeated Nasinu Masters 4-2 in penalty kicks after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
NZ Rewa Masters walked away with $5000 prize money while Nasinu received $2500.
