The end of the first round of the Digicel Fiji Premier League is indeed shaping up to be intense this weekend, with the spotlight on the battle for the final spot in the Digicel Fiji FACT.
Extra Supermarket Labasa FC, Extra Rewa FC, Rooster Chicken Ba FC, Navua FC, Nadi FC, Lautoka FC, and Sugar Taxis /Pacifika Rentals/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Works Nadroga FC have already secured their places, leaving Suva, Nasinu, and Tailevu Naitasiri in contention.
Flick Suva FC finds themselves in a precarious position after their recent defeat to Lautoka FC. They still have a chance to secure a spot in the tournament if they win their next match against Nadi FC. Meanwhile, Tailevu Naitasiri needs only a draw in their upcoming match against Lautoka, provided Suva doesn’t win by a significant margin and Nasinu loses points against Nadroga.
Nasinu FC is in a must-win situation and will be hoping for favorable outcomes in the matches involving Suva and Tailevu Naitasiri.
All three teams will head to the West for their decisive matches. Suva will face Nadi, Tailevu Naitasiri will take on Lautoka, and Nasinu will be up against Nadroga. The results of these matches will determine which team secures the final spot in the Digicel Fiji FACT.
All matches will kick off at 2pm.
The 2024 Digicel Fiji FACT will take place at Subrail Park, with group matches scheduled from May 31 to June 2 and the finals set for June 8 and 9. It’s sure to be an exciting end to the first round and a thrilling tournament ahead.
