Tailevu Naitasiri’s first win

The Tailevu Naitasiri U19 side registered its first win in the Digicel U19 Youth League beating Navua 3-1 at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa last Saturday.

Navua took an early lead with a goal from Sitiveni Qarua in the fifth minute but their celebration was cut short in the 20th minute with a goal from Shivneet Sami.

Midway in the first half, Sami scored his brace to put the Sky Blue colors into a 2-1 lead.

Navua tried its best to get into the game but a goal in the 75th minute by Iowane Tabaiwalu gave Tailevu Naitasiri its first victory.

Coach Krishneel Narayan was happy with his boy’s gallant performance.

“Hats off to the boys for playing their heart out,” said Vunimono High School teacher

“It is just a few weeks since I have been given the task to mentor the team and I am happy that we have built a winning team,”

“Some of the players are new to the competition but they really played well,”

‘The boys knew the task that they have to win and they proved it,” said Narayan

Narayan said the win was a boost for the team

“The win is a boost for the team as we prepare for the remaining matches in the competition,”

Tailevu Naitasiri didn’t win a single match after playing five rounds of the competition.
