Tailevu Naitasiri futsal side created a major upset in the Round 14 of the Digicel Futsal League Southern Zone beating Suva 2-1 in an accelerating match last Friday at FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
Suva had the experience with district reps Shahil Dave, Filipe Baravilala, Azaria Soromon and national futsal reps Vineet Nadan, Suraj Chand and Akitesh Kumar while Tailevu Naitasiri has the service of district reps Ramzan Khan and Kavishek Lal.
Baravilala scored the opener for Suva in the seventh minute while Junaid Ali got the equaliser in the twelfth minute of play.
Both teams equally matched and displayed quality futsal game fast-paced and entertaining game with both defense tight.
In the dying minute of the game an own goal by Suva’s Akitesh Kumar gave Tailevy Naitasiri the win and hope of playing in the Futsal IDC.
In other matches Rewa overcame Northland Tailevu 4-2 while Nasinu and Navua played to a 2-all draw.
