Tailevu Naitasiri ready for Nadi

The Tailevu Naitasiri football side aims to do its best in the premier division after the lapse of six years.

The side last featured in the top level in 2015.

Coach Nigel Khan said it was not an easy journey for them.

“We really worked hard last year to get promoted and we do understand the challenges ahead,” said Khan

“The boys have proven they deserve a spot in the top league, and have been in fine form last season.”

“It’s going to be a different ball game in the top level so we have set up our plans and are ready to battle the other top guns,”

The former Rewa coach said they would go in the competition as underdogs.

‘Our preparation has been going well just a few hindrances due to the weather condition and unavailability of the grounds in Nausori.”

Khan said they aim to be competitive in the competition.

“Our aim is to do best this season in the top-level competition and to stay in the premier division.”

“We now have a mixture of experience and young players after we secured the transfer release of some of the players from Rewa,”

“We are happy to have the services of former Rewa and national goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau, veteran defender Usaia Tadu, midfielder Mohammed Nigel and striker Epeli Valevou. They have brought a lot of experience with them playing in the top-level competition for some years now, “said Khan

He said morale was high in the camp.

“Well everyone is looking forward to the opener and I am confident they will do their best against Nadi.”

“Nadi is a good team with some good players and one of the top coaches Kama Swamy and I am sure they must be prepared for us,” said Khan

“We are ready to face Nadi and the boys aware of the task ahead of them,”

The Nausori businessman has urged Tailevu Naitasiri fans and business houses to come out and support the team.

“We don’t a sponsor yet but we are looking for some good Samaritans to come up and support us,”

He said his youth player to watch will be Darien Hamzah Khan.

Tailevu Naitasiri travels to Prince Charles Park in Nadi this Sunday to face the Jetsetters at 3 pm.
