Tailevu Naitasiri football side kept its unbeaten record intact in the Digicel Senior League Viti Levu Zone beating Northland Tailevu 2-0 at Ratu Cakobau Park Ground two in Nausori last Saturday.
Mosese Nabose was the star for the side scoring goals in each half.
Tailevu Naitasiri coach Nigel Khan said it was a hard-fought match.
“It was not an easy go but hats off to my players for sticking on the game plan and managed to get the much needed three points, “said Khan
“Northland is a very good team with young players and I think they really gave us hard time in the match and I salute them,”
Khan said they aimed to win the title this year.
“We tried last year but failed and our aim is still alive this year to gain promotion to the top level,”
“There are few areas we have to look on as we enter in the second round of the competition as every team will want to break our unbeaten record so we have to really work hard for remaining matches to achieve our goal, “said former Rewa coach
“Our boys are aware of the task ahead and they are giving their best in every game which is our strength,” said Khan
“Our next match is against Tavua and it is an away match so we really have to work hard this week for the match as we know Tavua will come out strong against us,”
Northland Tailevu coach Kritesh Prasad was not disappointed with the result.
“Well I am not really disappointed with the outcome of the match because we have very young and inexperience players compared to Tailevu Naitasiri but the boys really played well,” said Prasad
“The boys were eager to break their unbeaten run and they gave everything in the match but unfortunately we could not score and they scored and won, “added Prasad
“Well now we will go on the drawing board and prepare for the match against Lami.”
In other matches last weekend Nasinu also kept its unbeaten run beating Lami 2-1 while Rakiraki defeated Tavua 3-1.
