Suva women hold Nadroga to draw

The Suva women’s football side came from behind to hold Nadroga 2-2 in the Round 6 of the Digicel Women’s Super League encounter at Fiji FA Academy Ground last Saturday.

Nadroga started the match strongly with goals from Sera Roiroi in the second and twelfth minutes.

Litina Bolananu scored goals in each half to give Suva one point.

Nadroga coach Garfil Coster was happy with the draw.

“We played after seven months of break and I am happy with the draw, “said Coster

“I am thankful to the girls for a job well done. It is an encouraging result as the instruction was very clear either win or draw, “said Coster

“The girls have been away from football and I cannot ask more from them,”

The former Nadroga rep said they would have to work a lot for their next match.

“We will go back and iron out our weaknesses. We need to work on our attack as some of our players lacked the confidence of maintaining possession and fitness,”

Suva manager George Brown said they did well in the second half.

“We did not perform in the first half but we came back in the second half,” said Brown

“I think the girls really played well compared to the first round of the competition,”

Suva is bye while Nadroga will host Rewa at 11am this Sunday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
