Suva saves best for last

Sharma’s Investment (USA) Suva FC came from behind to beat newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri FC 3-2 in round four of the Digicel Premier League at ANZ Stadium in Suva on Sunday.

Former Rewa rep Mohammed Naizal shocked Suva camp in the 31st minute after sliding past two Suva defenders, outclassing goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi to place the ball neatly at the back of the net.

Tailevu Naitasiri led 1-nil at half-time.

Just two minutes into the second half Prashant Chand extended Tailevu Naitasiri’s lead with a beautiful goal from outside the 22 yards which caught Borisi stunned.

Suva coach Babs Khan brought in striker Samuela Drudu in replacement of Merrel Nand upfront to add more power and it paid off when he set up three goals in the win.

In the 53rd minute Solomon Island import Azariah Soromon netted the first goal after a blunder by goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.

The goal brought Suva players back in the game which saw Drudru getting the equaliser in the 65th minute,

Marlon Taihoa got the winner in the 74th minute from the penalty spot after Drudru was brought down by Tamanisau in the box.

Suva sits on the second spot on the DPL points table undefeated with 10 points while Tailevu Naitasiri is on sixth spot with four points
