The Suva women’s football side claimed the third spot in the 2020 Vodafone Women’s IDC after beating Lincoln Rewa side 2-0 in the third/fourth place play-offs at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Monday.
Suva lost 1-3 against Labasa in the first semi-final and Rewa went down 0-1 against Ba in the second semi-final.
The winner had to be decided in extra time as both teams were locked 0-0 at fulltime.
Captain and Fijiana 7s rep Viniana Riwai scored the opener in the first spell of extra time while veteran striker Jitilia Dugucanavanua sealed victory for the hosts with a clinical finish midway in the second spell.
Suva received $700 while Rewa walks away with $300.
