Defending Digicel Premier League champion Suva side has geared up its preparation to face Lautoka in the round five of the DPL this Sunday.
Association president Ritesh Pratap says the loss against Nadi in the last match was a wakeup call for the team.
“The team has re-grouped and we want to return to the winning ways. We have to put up a strong and competitive attack that can turn the tables around against Lautoka,”said Pratap
“We want players to step up and take lead roles in the team because we don’t have a strong finishing that can break the other defence and score goals. The set pieces which are lacking in the team can be combined by the defenders and they can set up scoring chances by feeding the ball to the strikers through overlaps and effective counter-attacks.”
“The competition is getting tougher and we are in second place and playing against Lautoka can be tough. They have got good finishers including our very own Sairusi Nalaubu who knows our style of play very well.”
Pratap said the inclusion of Ni-Vanuatu internationals Alex Senial and Azariah Soromon has boosted the team.
“Suva football is honored to have the services of the dup this season we know they have more to offer to the district side, “said Pratap
Unique Rubber Stamp Suva will face Viti Water Flow Lautoka at Churchill Park this Sunday at 3pm.
