Suva finishes third

Suva claimed the third position in the 2019 INKK Mobile Battle of Giants (BOG) after beating All Basic Supplies Nasinu 4-2 at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday.

Nasinu lost 3-0 against Labasa in the first semi-final while the Capital City side went down 1-4 against host Lautoka on Saturday.

The Giant Killers Nasinu was first to score in the 10th minute through Isikeli Ratucava whose adventurous attempt was buried into his own net by goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi.

Suva leveled scores in the 21st minute through a Sairusi Nalaubu penalty after midfielder Madhavan Goundar was brought down inside the box.

Ratu Apenisa Anare put Suva ahead in the 25th minute with an easy tap in as Nasinu goalkeeper Josaia Ratu was beaten in a tussle.

Nalaubu scored his second and Suva’s third goal in the 33rd minute before speedy Nasinu marksman Jone Naraba pulled one back.

Suva led 3-2 at halftime.

Ratu Anare scored the lone goal of the second half after neatly following a through pass from midfield and slamming into the roof of the net, giving replacement goalkeeper Viliame Rakuro no chance.

Suva received $2500 for finishing third while Nasinu was given $1000 for reaching the last four in the tournament.
