The Fiji Football Association has planned to build an International stadium in Lomolomo which is between Nadi and Lautoka.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel revealed this during the dinner function at the Grand Pacific Hotel where Fiji FA hosted FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura on Sunday night.
“We are almost in a position in acquiring the land in Lomolomo which will be our own stadium and everything and own sports tourism type facility,” said Patel
He said the stadium would be built such that it will accommodate all codes of football.
“Our plan is to build the stadium which will be used for all codes of football like football, futsal, and beach soccer,”
“We will also have accommodation facilities within the stadium,” said Patel
Patel confirmed that they would apply for funding from the FIFA Forward Program.
“We will be applying for the FIFA Forward funding to make sure that we achieve our goal and we have also requested a few things from FIFA which is from Legacy Program in Qatar and let’s hope we can be successful in our project,”
