Shivam resigns as Nasinu coach

Nathan Shivam has officially resigned from his post as Nasinu football team coach two weeks ago.

Nasinu Football Association president Lal O’neal Chand confirmed that they had accepted his resignation.

“Nathan has served Nasinu very well and due to family and work commitments he has resigned and we have accepted his resignations,” Chand said.

Chand said he understood there was lot of pressure on him.

“I understand there is lot of pressure on him after days’ work he comes to the field and returns home late which was quiet tough for him,”

‘He has been honest and reliable to us. He was not just working with us as the coach but also acted as an official with the players,” said Chand

He said they would miss Nathan’s services during the INKK Battle of the Giants but would not rush in things.

“BOG is near and we are not going into rush in things and getting in a new coach but we have spoken to Fiji football head coach Christophe Gamel and chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf if we could acquire the services of Vodafone national women’s football coach Marika Rodu and it seems like it is going to be a yes because Rodu is not doing anything in between and will guide us,” said Chand.

Chand said for time been some of the senior players have taken the task.

“Rodu is away in Samoa and he will join once he is back and for the time been Dinesh Mudaliar has taken the task of training the team, “added Chand.

Under the guidance of Master Naithan, the traditional Giant Killers of Fiji football made a return to the top level of football and made some upsets in the Vodafone Premier League and Vodafone Fiji FACT this year.
