Fiji National Men’s Football Head Coach Rob Sherman has named his squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers, with a few significant changes as the team heads to Papua New Guinea for the second round of Group A matches.
The 23-member squad includes Labasa players Christopher Wasasala and veteran Simione Tamanisau, who have earned spots in the lineup.
However, Rewa’s Samu Kautoga is out due to an ankle injury, and Epeli Leiroti also missed selection following an injury sustained in the recent IDC tournament.
Rewa’s goalkeeper Isikeli Sevanaia is another notable exclusion.
The Bula Boys will depart for Papua New Guinea on Sunday, where they are set to play Papua New Guinea next Thursday, followed by a clash with New Caledonia three days later.
Mohammad Raheem, Scott Wara, Mosese Nabose, and Antonio Tuivuna, who were unavailable for the first round of matches in Suva, are returning to the squad.
Meanwhile, Joela Biuvanua, Charlton Athletic’s Josh Qereqeretabua, Kavaia Rawaqa, Aprosa Yada, and Ba’s Etonio Dogalau have been dropped from the squad for this round.
