Senior League kicks off this weekend

The Digicel Fiji Senior League 2023 season kicks off this weekend.

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that the competition would be played in two divisions.

“We have four teams in the Viti Levu zone and six teams in the Vanua Levu Zone,” said Pal

“Nasinu, Northland Tailevu, Lami, and Rakiraki will play in the Viti Levu Zone while Bua, Seaqaqa, Nadogo, Dreketi, Savusavu, and Taveuni will play in the Vanua Levu zone.

“The winner from both divisions after two rounds of competition will play in the final playoff and the winner will get direct promotion to the Premier Division, “said Pal

He said all teams have prepared well for the competition.

“All the teams were informed on the start date of the competition and have prepared well and are excited to kick start the competition,” said Pal

On Saturday, March 18 at 2 pm Seaqaqa FC will host Taveuni FC at Seaqaqa Muslim Primary School.

A doubleheader is set on Sunday at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa in which at 1 pm Lami FC will face Rakiraki followed feature match of round one between Nasinu FC and Northland Tailevu.

On Sunday in the Vanua Levu zone, Dreketi will host Nadogo at 2 pm at a venue yet to be decided while Seaqaqa will play Bua Fc at 1 pm at Seaqaqa Muslim Primary School.
