Savusavu of a comeback in senior league

Savusavu fooball president Tony Kabakoro believes they will come back in the second round of the Vodafone Senior League play-offs after poor performance last weekend.

Savusavu went down 0-2 against Navua and six-nil against Lami in the play-off last weekend and their first match against Dreketi in the play-off ended in a 1-1 draw.

Kabakoro said they would go back and work out their mistakes and will come out firing in the next round.

“This weekend we came well prepared but some decisions by the referee really disappointed us as some of our key players were carded without any reasons, “said Kabakoro.

“We hope we will have better referees in the second round and that will help us perform well.”

Savusavu has experience players with the likes of Livai Duguca, Maciu Dunadamu,Apisai Sesewa, Penaia Bale and Epeli Deyama.

“We have three matches and anything can happen in the game of football,”said Kabakoro.

He said they would not let the southern teams go easily.

“Everybody must be thinking we will sell the matches but I am telling that we will not do our best to fight back,’” said former national rep.

“Some of our key players missed the matches in the weekend and they will come this weekend which will be an advantage for us.

Savusavu will play Navua on Saturday at 1pm and face Lami on Sunday at same time at Muanidevu Primary School Ground in Dreketi.
