Sami joins Tavua camp

GOOD news for Tavua football as renown coach Anand Sami has joined to guide the team for this season.

Tavua FA vice-president Michael Roy Prasad confirmed that Sami has joined the camp on Sunday.

“Yes we are happy that Sami has shown his interest in guiding the team once again for this season,” said Prasad.

Prasad said Sami was not new to the district and the players.

“We all know the caliber of Sami who has done wonders for Tavua last year and we are happy that he is back again to assist us,”

He said this was possible with the support of a Tavua fan who leaved in Australia.

“Sami is sponsored by Bobby Bhupesh Prasad who is an ardent Tavua fan and we thank him for his support, Prasad said.

Prasad confirmed that Sami would not only coach the senior team but would also guide the age group teams.

“He will work on the development side as well helping our U16 and U19 Youth team as well as Tavua College team, “said Prasad.

“Our current coach master Nazeel Ali is happy to work with Sami and that is what good for the development of football in Tavua,”

He urged fans to keep patience and support the team.

“I urge Tavua fans to unite and support the team as we are very small district and we need people to come and assist us in our campaign.”

Tavua will host Labasa this Sunday at 3pm at Garvey Park in Tavua.
