Digicel Fiji Bula Boys captain and star forward, Roy Krishna, has become the first player in Oceania to reach the 40-goal mark after his impressive performance in the 2024 OFC Nations Cup.
Krishna scored in all pool matches of the current OFC Nations Cup, bringing his goal tally for the Fiji national team to 40 goals.
The previous goalscoring record in the Oceania region was held by Commins Menapi before Chris Wood overtook that record around 2022. Krishna has now surpassed Chris Wood’s record of 34 goals for New Zealand, becoming the highest goalscorer in Oceania.
The Rob Sherman coached side, which topped Group B, will take on Group A’s runners-up, Melanesian rivals Vanuatu this Thursday at 4pm at Freshwater Stadium, Port Villa, Vanuatu .
