Argentinian coach Rodolfo Zapata’s contract as the head coach of the Digicel Junior Bula Boys has been terminated.
This was confirmed by Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf.
Yusuf said there were a lot of issues raised regarding the style of coaching by Zapata from the players.
“After dismissal performance at the recent Indonesia tour in which we lost all three matches and the independent consultant did the review after the winless tour, “said Yusuf
“It was found out in the review that the players were unhappy with Zapata’s style of training.
“We had to make the decision of letting him go in order to sustain the players as they had been showing less or no interest of working with him,” said Yusuf
Yusuf confirmed that former Rewa coach Marika Rodu has joined the coaching panel.
“We have appointed Rodu to assist the team in training with Ronil Lal and a FIFA consultant,” said Yusuf
“The team will go on Easter break return on Monday 10 and will go to Gold Coast for three build-up matches,” said Yusuf
