The Rewa football side finished second on the points table when the Vodafone Premier League (VPL) 2020 concluded last weekend.
Head coach Marika Rodu said it had been a good season for the Delta Tigers.
“It has been a good season and I thank the Big Man upstairs for the journey,” Rodu said.
“We have grown from game to game.
“For me, there’s no regret as I have always been emphasizing on the importance of performing well in the league because it’s a chance to go and play in the OFC Champions League.
“Unfortunately we are not number one but we can always wait for another year.”
He said there was a complete 360-degree turn for them if compared to their previous season.
“When you compare it to our previous season, it’s a total 360 degrees turn in terms of performance.
“In our last game last year, we were fighting for survival but this year we have made a very big difference with the boys to finish on 27 points, so it has been a good journey.
“Thanks to boys for the effort this year and their families for the support.”
After their last VPL match against Lautoka, Rodu said he had two weeks to come up with a plan for the upcoming Vodafone Fiji FACT.
“We have two weeks to prepare for Fiji FACT and see if we can come up with another combination of players because our Police players are going out for their work commitment and they might not be back on time.
“So it’s a recycle of some players back into the team and we will see from there.”
