Rewa takes lead

The Rewa Football Club has taken the lead on the Digicel Premier League points table after beating neighbors Tailevu Naitasiri on Sunday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The win keeps the Delta Tigers undefeated with seven points with a better goal difference with Suva who is also on seven points.

Rewa also gave Tailevu Naitasiri its first defeat in DPL.

Ivan Kumar scored the opener in the 43rd minute with a powerful drive from the outside left flank which caught Tailevu Naitasiri goalkeeper Jason Rokovucake napping.

In the 50th minute a powerful drive from Iosefo Verevou hit the post and landed into Samuela Nabenia’s path, and the former Ba and Lautoka attacker made no mistake with his attempt and sealed the victory for the Delta Tigers.

Rewa will play Nasinu while Tailevu Naitasiri will face Suva in round four this weekend.
