Extra Rewa Football Club is on the verge of winning the 2024 Digicel Fiji Premier League title and a win this weekend can see the Delta Tigers crowned champions.
If Rewa secures a win against Nadi FC this weekend, they will be crowned champions regardless of other results. However, the side can still nick the title, even by earning a point from its two remaining games.
Extra Labasa FC, which is still in with a chance, can still match Rewa but goal difference could prove to be a stumbling block.
Should Rewa get a point from its last two games and Labasa wins, they will be tied on points but for the moment, Labasa is 16 goals behind Rewa.
Back to this weekend, Rewa needs to get maximum points and not worry about the last weekend of matches. If Rewa beats Nadi, it will win the title with 40 points and Labasa’s results will not matter.
However, a Labasa win and Rewa dropping points will mean the title race continues into the final round in which Rewa plays Ba FC and Labasa faces Navua FC.
