Lincoln Rewa FC enters the 2025 Extra Supermarket Battle of the Giants (BOG) tournament on a high note, following a series of strong performances in recent years and the ongoing Extra Premier League season. This year, the Delta Tigers have once again proven they are a tournament team, capable of advancing from a difficult pool and contending for the championship.
Under the leadership of player-coach Ratu Tevita Warainivalu, assisted by Priyant Manu, Rewa has demonstrated consistent excellence. Their winning performances have established them as a team to be reckoned with in Fijian football.
Rewa has maintained a largely unchanged squad over the past few seasons—a strategy that is now yielding dividends, as evidenced by their success in the domestic competitions.
The Delta Tigers have an impressive BOG history, having won the title nine times and finished as runners-up on three occasions. They first claimed the BOG title in 1994 at Prince Charles Park after Ba defaulted the replay under protest. They returned to the same venue in 2010 and secured the championship with a 1–0 victory over Navua in the final. Rewa’s most recent triumph came in 2020, when they defeated Suva 1–0 in the final at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
This year, Rewa boasts a talented and well-rounded squad. The team features Solomon Islands international goalkeeper James Do’oro; defenders Iowane Matanisiga, Madhwan Goundar, and Gabrieli Matanisiga; midfielders Setareki Hughes, Patrick Joseph, Iosefo, Tevita Warainivalu, and John Alick; and strikers John Orobulu, Junior Sela, Epeli Valevou, Asivorosi Rabo, and Bruce Hughes.
Rewa will begin its 2025 BOG campaign against regional neighbors Navua FC on Friday, August 1, at 4:00 p.m. On Day Two, they face Nadi FC at 1:00 p.m., followed by a highly anticipated Group B clash with Suva FC on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
With depth, experience, and a proven track record, the Delta Tigers enter the tournament as serious contenders for the 2025 title.
