Rewa FC is on the verge of retaining the Extra Premier League 2025 title, needing just one more win to seal back-to-back championships.
The Delta Tigers, sitting on 39 points from 16 matches, underlined their dominance with a commanding 5-0 victory over Nadroga last weekend. They now face Suva FC, which could settle both the championship race and the battle for FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) qualification.
For Rewa, victory against Suva will confirm them as champions with a game to spare. For Suva, the match is equally vital as they sit on 19 points with two games remaining, fighting to secure their place among the top eight and book a spot at the IDC.
Labasa FC remain the only serious challengers to Rewa’s throne. With 33 points from 16 matches, the Babasiga Lions must win both of their remaining fixtures to keep the title race alive. Their immediate test comes against Nadi FC this weekend. For Labasa, three points are essential to prolong their hopes. For Nadi, ninth on the table with 16 points, the match is a lifeline in their push for IDC qualification.
Lautoka FC, second on 34 points from 17 matches, still have a mathematical chance, but their hopes are slim. They would need Rewa to lose both of their matches and Labasa to slip, an unlikely scenario despite their 2-1 win over Nadi last weekend.
With Tavua FC already relegated on just three points, the spotlight has shifted to the race for IDC qualification.
Five teams are already safe — Rewa, Lautoka, Labasa, Navua, and Ba. That leaves three spots to be filled by Suva, Nadroga, Nasinu, and Nadi. Nadroga, with 19 points from 17 matches, must take something from their daunting final fixture against Labasa. Nasinu, one point behind on 18, face an uphill battle against league leaders Rewa. Nadi, with two matches left, remains in contention but must earn at least four points against Labasa and Navua to force their way into the top eight.
The decisive fixtures this weekend — Rewa vs Suva and Labasa vs Nadi — promise fireworks, with the title, qualification, and pride all on the line.
The final round will then see Tavua meet Ba, Navua host Nadi, Lautoka face Suva, Labasa play Nadroga, and Rewa clash with Nasinu.
