Rewa extends lead

The Rewa football side further extends its lead in the Vodafone Premier League.

This was after the Marika Rodu-coached Delta Tigers defeated season newcomers Navua 2-1 at Ratu Cakobau Park on Sunday.

A goal each from Patrick Joseph and youngstar Epeli Valevou was enough for Rewa to grab the maximum points out of the clash, extending its lead on the table to 12 points after five matches.

Lautoka, after a disappointing outing at the recent OFC Champions League, settled for a goalless draw with Labasa at Churchill Park.

Blues remain on the second spot with seven points after three matches while Nadi, who was on bye last weekend maintains its thirds place with six points after four matches.

In the other match on Sunday, Suva had a lucky escape to settle for a 3-3 draw against the giant-killers Nasinu at Ratu Cakobau Park.

The Capital City Boys are on fourth place with five points after playing three matches.

Navua is currently at the bottom of the points table with only one point after four matches.

In the lone Vodafone Premier League fixture this week, Lautoka hosts Suva at 3pm at Churchill Park this Sunday.
