Restrictions to remain

The Vodafone National League resumed last weekend under strict guidelines and restriction will continue during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said it was great to see the teams adhering to the restrictions.

“We have accredited our 19 affiliated districts for attending the Fiji FA Covid 19 response workshop and attaining the knowledge on precautionary measures in respect with the requirement of Safe Sport Fiji and it was amazing to see the team following the guidelines” said Yusuf

Yusuf confirmed there was no complaints received last weekend and hope things would go better in future.

“The players followed all the guidelines like no spiting on the ground, no sharing of water bottles, no handshake, no goal celebrations in clusters just add few,”

“It was pleasing to see the restrictions were seriously taken by our U16 teams during the Vodafone U16 Youth League and I thank district officials for taking care of everything, “added Yusuf.

As the Vodafone National League continues this weekend Yusuf advices people attending the matches have the CareFiji app installed on their phone as this will need to be sighted by officials upon entry to the grounds.

 “If anyone does not have a smartphone to download the app, their name and contact details will be recorded for contact tracing purpose.” said Yusuf

 “Temperature checks will be taken before entry into the grounds and if an individual presents him or herself with high temperature (greater than 37.5 Degrees Celsius), entry may be denied.”

 “Social distancing has to be maintained at the match venue as security officials will be present to enforce the same therefore people are advised to take heed of advice provided,”

 Yusuf said entry wwould not be permitted if people fail to comply with the guidelines.
