Kartik Reddy, affectionately known as “Doc,” is making waves as the Team Manager of the Digicel Fiji U20 National Team, currently participating in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina. With his unwavering dedication and extensive experience, Reddy plays a crucial role in ensuring the team is well-managed, organized, and ready to face any challenge that comes their way.
At almost 29 years old, Kartik has been a crucial pillar of the national team. Hailing from Lautoka, Fiji, he has a lifelong passion for soccer. Alongside his dedication to the sport, he pursued higher education, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology. Currently pursuing a master’s in clinical psychology, he exemplifies his dedication to both athletics and academics. Kartik aims to apply his knowledge and skills not only in football and sports in general but also in other areas.
Reddy’s journey as a team manager began last year, and since then, he has worked with various teams, including the NZFFI All Stars, Team Nadi NZ, Lautoka FC, NZ Lautoka Masters, Manukau Utd, and NZ Middlemore Sangam. His dedication and skillset caught the attention of the senior management of Fiji Football Association, leading to his involvement with the Fiji U20 team.
Reddy has also been appointed as the manager of the U23 team and the national team for the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands later this year.
Reddy credits his mother as his inspiration, as she became his rock after his father’s death when he was 11. Her unwavering support and determination drive his ambitions in all aspects of life. Reddy’s football idol is Arsene Wenger, admired for his exceptional managerial skills and inspiring football philosophies.
Reflecting on his best moment in football, Reddy highlights the exhilaration of qualifying for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in the OFC U19 Championship competition in Tahiti last year. It is a significant achievement that stands out in his career, representing the culmination of hard work and dedication over the years.
However, Reddy acknowledges that football isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. The sting of defeat and negative criticism is something he finds difficult to swallow. Nevertheless, he remains resilient and motivated, striving to give his best for any team he works with while ensuring the welfare of the players is well looked after.

Away from football, Reddy enjoys playing and watching soccer and indulging in his hobbies of sleeping and sightseeing. He reveals a fondness for Coke as his favorite drink and has a weakness for any fast food delicacies.
As for his experience at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina, Reddy describes it as a dream come true. He expresses immense pride in the camaraderie and bond shared among the players and staff, making this tournament memorable for all involved.
