The Rakiraki Futsal side will be making its debut in the 2021 Digicel Futsal Inter-District which will be held from this Thursday at the Vodafone Arena in Laucala Bay, Suva.
Team manager Shelvin Ram said they have been preparing well for their debut.
“We are coming as underdogs in the tournament and with all our local boys,”
“Though we have no proper futsal facilities here in Rakiraki we are not letting any stone unturned in our training,” said Ram
Ram said the team morale is high in the camp.
“My boys are very much excited in making their debut in the IDC as well playing on the much professional futsal pitch,”
“We have a very young side and we believe in our boys that they will for sure create some upsets in the tournament, “said Ram
Ram said they would take each game as final.
“We are in a tough pool with defending champions Suva, last year’s semi-finalists Rewa and Lami so we are aware how tough the battle will be, “said Ram
The maroons will open their campaign against defending champions Suva on Thursday at 5pm.
