Program records massive turnout

Fiji Football Association age-specific development program started with a massive response at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba last week.

Acting technical director Yogendra Dutt said this is a pilot program which will be held in Ba and Suva Academy every Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“This is pure age-specific development program,” he said.

“Targeted age-group is 6-14 years who will be developed to join competitions from the Primary and Secondary schools’ championships leading them into the district youth teams from where they would be scouted to represent the districts later on and having the final aim to represent the national team in future.

“The kids are being coached according to the framework that has been prepared and based on that we are conducting this program.”

Dutt said the main objective is for the development of young kids from the age of 6 to 14 years old.

“From there they should be ready to join competitions in schools other championships that follow.”

He thanked the Fijian wonder-boy Roy Krishna for availing himself at the first program held last week.

“I would like to thank our lone international Mr. Roy Krishna for accepting our call to come out and help us with this program.

“His presence is a great boost to our budding footballers.”
