Pools confirmed for Fiji FACT

Defending champions Suva FC has been drawn in a tough pool in this year’s Digicel Fiji FACT. The pool draw was held at the Digicel outlet at Jet Point in Nadi on Tuesday.

Fiji’s representative in the OFC Champions League Suva FC will test their strength against Lautoka FC, Navua FC, and Ba FC in Group A.

Digicel Premier League point table leaders Rewa is drawn with last year’s finalists Labasa FC, Nadi FC, and Tailevu Naitasiri FC.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel says it’s going to be an exciting tournament.

“Looking at the pool draws I think it is going to be an exciting tournament as all teams will prepare accordingly for their opponents,” said Patel

“No pool is tough as we have seen all teams coming well-prepared in the tournament,”

“The fans can expect an entertaining Digicel Fiji FACT this year as we have seen some mix results in the Digicel Premier League,” said Patel

Patel said it would be hard to predict who will win the first major tournament in the Fiji FA Calendar.

“I know the fans are excited as well but I guess it will be hard to predict so early,” said Patel

The first round is scheduled for the 9th-11th of June while the knockout stage is from the 17th-18th of June at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The winner will get $17,000, the runner-up $5,000 and the semi-finalists get $2,000 each.
