New President to lead Tavua FA

The Tavua Football Association held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Tavua Town Council Hall on Friday.

During the AGM was also the election of the new board members.

Assistant Superintendent of Police [ASP] and Officer Incharge Tavua Police Station Riyaz Mohammed was elected as the new President of Tavua FA.

Mohammed said he already made a draft as to how he plans to work in order to take Tavua football forward.

He said the emphasis would be mainly on discipline and togetherness.

“One of my major area of concern is to work on discipline in all grades and to fully run and complete the club games in Tavua.

“A lot of emphasis will also be put on development which concerns the youth and the women’s teams.

“Togetherness is the way forward and I know if we all (Tavua FA officials and other stakeholders) work together, we will be able to take Tavua back into the Premier division,” he said.
