New Football Grounds Set to Transform Labasa Academy

The Fiji Football Association has officially awarded the Labasa Academy Ground Development Project to Heritage Fiji Ltd. The signing took place this morning at the Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa.

The $2.3 million project, funded through the FIFA Forward program, will see the development of two high-quality football grounds at the Fiji FA Academy in Labasa. This initiative aims to enhance football infrastructure in the Northern Division and provide better facilities for player development.

Present at the signing was Mr. Shivas Singh, the Director of Shiri Singh & Associates Pte Ltd, who serves as Fiji FA’s Project Engineer and Consultant. He will oversee the project’s implementation to ensure it meets the required standards.

Fiji FA President, Mr. Rajesh Patel, expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This is a significant step forward for football development in the North. With the completion of these grounds, we aim to provide better training and playing facilities for our players. We thank FIFA for their continuous support through the FIFA Forward program, which enables us to improve our football infrastructure across the country.”

The Labasa Academy Ground Development Project is expected to commence in August, with a focus on delivering top-quality facilities that will benefit players, coaches, and football enthusiasts in the region.
