Navua in shock defeat

The Tailevu Naitasiri football side has proved it’s worth coming into the Premier Division after creating an upset beating Navua 1-0 at Uprising Spots Center in Pacific Harbour on Sunday.

Isikeli Tuiloma was the hero for the side after he scored the lone goal in the 36th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box.

Tailevu Naitasiri coach Nigel Khan was impressed with his player’s performance.

“I am always been proud of them. We won and also they proved their worth,”

“The game was fast pace and it could have gone either way as we missed few opportunities and as well Navua,”

“So we managed to score and maintained the lead. We didn’t want to repeat what we did against Suva in our last match after 2-0 lead we lost 2-3.

“I hope the boys will perform better in the next match, this was just a glimpse of it,”

“We will take each game as it comes and our aim is to survive in the premier division,” said former Rewa coach.

Tailevu Naitasiri sits on third place in the Digicel Premier League points table with seven points with two wins, two losses and a draw.

They will face Nadroga in round six this Sunday at ANZ Stadium in Suva at 3pm.
