Navua hold Labasa

THE Navua football side secured a point in the Digicel Premier League after a holding Labasa to a nil-all draw last weekend.

Both teams had equal opportunities in the high-tempo match but failed to untilise in the wet weather condition.

Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap accepted the outcome of the game but said more was needed to be done.

“First of all, I like to thank the God Almighty for the game today (Sunday) and hats off to Navua for holding us at their home ground, “said Pratap

“I’m proud of the boys, they played according to the game plan but only the goals were not there.

Pratap said they lacked finishing.

“We created a lot of chances, one-on-one we missed some, two to three balls came out of the post and the bar so I’m really happy of the performance but we need to work hard in all aspects of the game come next week.”

Navua coach Amit Prakash said he was happy with the result.

“Taking into consideration that Labasa is the CvC champions and a draw against them is a positive result for us.”

“We lost to Lautoka in the opener but we needed a point so we did it, “said Pratap

Navua will play Suva this Sunday at ANZ Stadium while Labasa will host Rewa on Saturday at Subrail Park in Labasa.
