Navua Football Association president Rajiv Prasad was the happiest man after Navua thrashed Nasinu 7-1 to survive in the Premier Division last Saturday at Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour.
Speaking to Fiji FA media after their win, Prasad said he was the happiest man today.
“I would say I am the happiest man in Navua today (Saturday) because it paid off my hard work and it’s not a week’s hard work but my five years of hard work as the leader on Navua FA,” said Prasad
“I don’t know how to express myself today but I thank everyone for their support,”
“I would like to thank my sponsors, my fans, my players and their families and my executive members and officials for their support and faith in me,”
Prasad praised the management of the Uprising Sports Center for putting up the facilities in Navua.
“Without proper facilities, we can’t give results and today because resort owner, Rene Munch we are successful and bearing the fruit,”
Prasad said he had sleepless nights but was confident they would do it.
“I have been having a sleepless night for the past few weeks but I had confidence in my boys. The best thing about our team is that we have 95percent of local players,”
“We have so much talent in Navua and it was hard for us to select our best 18 squads from our usual 22 but I am proud all our hard work and sacrifices paid off,”
He dedicated the win to the fans of Navua.
“I dedicate this win to all our fans and players,”
