Nasinu FC coach Naithan Shivam says they really need to work on their fitness to compete in the Digicel Premier League.
This after Labasa scored two goals in the final ten minutes to come from behind and beat Nasinu 2-1 in round ten of the DPL at Uprising Sports Center on Saturday.
Shivam said they did not prepare well for the match.
“I think the preparation was not enough as we only had three sessions before playing the experience Labasa side.”
“We really have to work hard in our fitness and if fitness is there we can go up till 90 minutes,”
“This match against Labasa proved that we lacked the fitness to play a full match because we played really in the first 45 minutes but conceded two goals in the final ten minutes,”
“But I must say the boys performed well after looking at the preparation time but as I said we need to work harder to match more fit teams in the competition,”
Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap praised Nasinu for the tough game.
“Nasinu played really well and gave us a tough time,”
“Hats off to the boys for showing the fighting spirit but I think we have to go back to the drawing board and work out our weaknesses before coming into the next match,”
‘The win for sure has put our morale high and hope the boys will continue their hard work,”
Nasinu will play Tailevu Naitasiri at 11.30am on Sunday in triple header at Ratu Cakobau Park while Labasa will battle Rewa at 3.30pm.
