Nasinu in for IDC treat

The Nasinu Women’s football team is not taking any team lightly in the 2020 Vodafone Women’s Inter District Championship which kicks off at ANZ Stadium in Suva on Wednesday.

Coach Annabel Rao said they were coming well prepared in the tournament.

“We are coming hard, we are not taking any team for granted, we not underestimating any team as we know every team is preparing well,”

Rao believes coming back to the Vodafone IDC after lapse of six years is a huge achievement.

“We are coming back in the tournament after lapse of six years and this what we have been looking forward for with mixture of youth and experience players, “said Rao

“There was some hindrance in our training due to the weather but we are not letting any stone unturned for our preparation.

The former national rep says their strength this season was their youth players.

“We have two national under 16 reps and our goalkeeper is also national U19 player and we have some senior players who have gelled well with the team,”

Rao said they anticipated a tough clash in their pool matches.

“We will meet again Suva and Rewa and we know they are very good side as we have played with them and we are also aware that Nadroga will be a team to reckon but we will take each game as it comes, “said Rao

Nasinu opens its campaign against Suva on Wednesday October 28 at 12pm and then faces Rewa on Thursday at 12pm and their final pool match will be against Nadroga on Friday at 4pm.
