‘Nadroga sticks to plan’

The Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga football side put up a gallant performance against Ba as the Men in Black fought hard to hold the Stallions to a 1-1 draw in the Digicel Premier League at Churchill Park on Saturday.

Striker Rusiate Matarerega hammered in a well-calculated freekick from an acute angle to put the Stallions into the lead in the first half before Avinesh Suwamy came off the bench to level the scores in the second half.

Head Coach, Kamal Swamy, commended the boys for their hard effort.

He said the best part with Nadroga is that they follow the game plan.

“I think we came up very strong as we knew they (Ba) will play 3-5-2 so we had a plan and with Nadroga when you make a plan, it is exciting to see them follow the plan.

“I must say hats off to the boys because they are improving in every game.

“Some of the experienced players like Osea (Vakatalesau) who always kept them on toes by talking which is very good,” Swamy said.

He said there are some key areas they needed to work on before taking on Labasa FC this week.

“I think once we score, then defending as we have to manage the game which we will be working on and come next game we will improve.

“Labasa is a very good side and they play good possession football. We need to work on how to counter them and let’s see how we go.”
