Nadroga back in top flight

The Professional Valuations Nadroga football side had all the reasons to smile for when the dust settled at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka last Saturday.

This is after the Stallions were crowned the champions of the Vodafone Senior League 2020 and booked its ticket to the Premier Division for season 2021.

The Johnny Williams-coached side defeated the Northern senior giants Bua FC 6-0 on aggregate in the final playoffs to make it to the top tier division of football in the country.

They defeated the Roneel Ram-coached northerners 3-0 in the first leg at Subrail Park before recording yet another impressive 3-0 victory in the second leg at home.

Ecstatic coach Williams said the mission is finally accomplished.

“I can now say that our mission for 2020 has finally been accomplished,” he said.

“We played 15 hard games this season but we were confident since the beginning because I trusted in the boys.

“The journey is over now and we are looking forward to the next level.”

He said the only secret behind the team’s success was that everyone believed in themselves.

“As I said all along, I just told the boys to believe in themselves and I think that the team that believes in themselves is the team that will always win.”

He said they know it would be a different level come season 2021.

“I know it’s going to be a greater climb but I have confidence in these boys that they can do the job.”
