The 2020 Vodafone Futsal Inter-District Championship Golden Ball Award would have not been possible with the blessings and support of my parents says Suva rep Vineet Nadan.
Nadan who was instrumental in Suva’s third in a row IDC victory was supported by his parents from the sideline.
“I dedicate this award to my mum Kamla Wati and dad Shui Nadan because without their blessings and support I would have not achieved this award,” said Nadan
“They were there in every match watching me play and that what motivated me and boosted my performance,”
The Samabula-born Nadan started his playing career in football after completing his education then switched to futsal in 2018 and was also named the Best Player of the Tournament in 2018 Vodafone Futsal IDC.
“I have been playing for Suva for past three years and we are like brothers and that is our strength behind our success, “said Nadan
The 26 year old Suva police officer said he enjoys playing in the Suva futsal team.
“I really enjoy playing with my brothers, we are not known football players but we have our name in futsal and I am proud to be playing for the team,”
“It was a tough tournament with ten teams participating and I will say the futsal is now growing in Fiji and thank to Fiji Football for reviving futsal in the country,”
“Futsal is very intensive game and it keeps us fit and also helps in learning more skills and I urge young and passionate footballers to start their career in futsal to enhance their skills in football, “said Nadan
Nadan scored five goals in the tournament and assisted in most of the goals for his HLB Mann Judd Suva side.
Suva defeated Lami 3-1 in the final to make it third in a row Futsal IDC title.
